St Adamnan's Well
St Adamnan's Well submitted by KiwiBetsy : The well is on private land just south of what was the walled garden of the manse. It exists now as a very wet area in the corner of what appears to have been quite a large stone lined pool. The stone lining on the north and east sides remains but there are no well house remains. This site was confirmed by the landowner who had maps showing all the historic sites on his land that were protected by... (Vote or comment on this photo)
Holy Well or Sacred Spring in Perth and Kinross

St Adamnan was an Irishman who became Abbot of Iona in 679AD. He was St Columba’s biographer and is the Patron Saint of lovely Glen Lyon. His bell can be seen in the Innerwick Church in Glen Lyon. When the saint lay dying, he asked that his body be placed on a bier carried on bearing sticks held in rings of willow (known as dullan). He was to be carried down Glen Lyon until the dullan broke and there he was to be buried. The place where this happened became known as village of Dull.
