Situated within the relatively flat moorland to the east of the summit of Y Foel Caerynwch the cairn is not immediately recognisable. The location overlooks the Brithdir valley to the north and the A470 Dolgellau to Dinas Mawddwy road to the south.
The cairn is elevated to 0.3m but overgrown with heather and moss. I cleared an area for photo purposes before covering the area again when I was done. The raised area of the cairn measures 4m in diameter but I suspect that it was much larger.
There are panoramic views from the nearby Foel Caerynwch.
