This site is featured on the Stone Rows of Great Britain website - see their entry for the Afon Hyddgen Stone Row, which is described as a single row made up of 4 small and medium stones, with a length of 7 metres forming a slight arc. The tallest stone is 70 cms above ground; the shortest being only 13 cms above ground level. The site is at an altitude of 351.7 metres and there is an alignment to a cairn situated 235 metres to the south west at SN 77931 89237. The SRoGB entry includes a description, photographs, a plan of the alignment from a recent survey in March 2016, plus access information.
The Coflein record for the Afon Hyddgen Stone Row states: "(this is the) remains of a stone row situated within open moorland, below Banc Llechwedd-Mawr and above the Afon Hyddgen. The four stones are aligned from north-east to south-west, the row measuring 6.5m in length overall and decreasing in size from the largest on the south-west. The largest stone measures 0.8m in height, 0.6m in length and 0.5m in width. The next stone has fallen, its neighbour measures 0.4m in height and the smallest, that on the north-east, measures 0.1m in height."
According to the Modern Antiquarian website, the nearest town is Machnynlleth which is 12km NNW, depending on which route you are taking to this stone row. The SRoGB entry also gives a link to the CADW scheduled monument report: MC309 Afron Hyddgen Stone Row.
