Bwlch Cowlyd Cairn submitted by TAlanJones : The cairn with my day sack at its centre. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Cairn in Gwynedd

The cairn is situated 30m north of a water channel or sluice that carries water from Llyn Cowlyd (lake). These are the foothills of Pen Llithrig Y Wrach (the witch's slippery head) that towers to the north west of Llyn Cowlyd.

The cairn lies but a few feet from a footpath. It is overgrown with heather and moss but distinguishable due to the robbed out centre. A foot style allows access to and from the site.

The cairn has a 7m diameter. It is raised to a height of 0.4m at it's centre.

This is a beautiful environment with the Cwm Ogwen (valley) and the Carneddau and Glyder mountains beconing to the west.
