Anne T couldn't find on 19th Sep 2014 High Banks Farm Rock Art: Found the track to High Banks Farm easily enough, but husband wouldn't risk our car on the farm track, saying that we'd need a four wheel drive to attempt it. Our tight schedule of sites to visit for the rest of the afternoon didn't allow time to walk up to this rock art site, so sadly we've had to leave this until another day - a future treat!

High Banks Farm
High Banks Farm submitted by Greengirl : the low winter sun helped with photographing this amazing rock art. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Spectacular Rock Art in Dumfries & Galloway, not far from Kirkcudbright. The rock art outcrop can be accessed by taking the farm track leading to High Banks Farm and parking in the carpark. The farm track requires careful driving as it's quite uneven. Walk from the farm is well signposted and easy going but two steep stiles to cross

Signposts lead you across a couple of fields (very muddy in wet weather and full of livestock) to this fantastic outcrop.

This is one of the best rock art sites that I have visited. Don't be put off by the 500 metres walk across two paddocks with frisky bullocks in them - its well worth the effort to see these impressive rock art carvings.
