Iangan visited on 8th Dec 2023 - their rating: Cond: 3 Narrow single track road leading to the site from the village of Bethlehem with very few passing places! Some direction signs have been pushed to indicate an incorrect route!
Great to have parking and an information board.
Fabulous views. Very peaceful.
sapphonica visited on 7th Oct 2012 - their rating: Cond: 3 Amb: 5 Access: 3 Have been visiting this site for years and it has hardly changed. I particularly enjoy the peace and quite one can find here and on top of that the views are spectacular. Local word of mouth suggests that the walls of the two Iron Age forts were originally roughly 30 foot tall but many of the stones have been used for building local farmhouses and crushed to make road surfaces. The barrow at the very top is thought to be of Neolithic era and is still impressive to this day.
If you are visiting please walk over the bracken (if you are able). We are having difficulty controlling the bracken on site and investigation suggests that the best way to reduce growth is to bruise the plants - walking over them will do this and will help preserve the archaeology.
Thanks.
