Henrhyd Cairns Cairn in Carmarthenshire. Coflein lists this location as a cairn cemetery. There is one large cairn of bare rocks, one smaller cairn with some scattered bare rocks and perhaps indications of other cairns that are now overgrown. The rocks of the larger cairn have been disturbed to the point where there is a hole in the middle of the circle.

I have given the coordinates of the large cairn.

Source: Coflein Access is across uneven rough grazing on common land at least 700m from the road to the west.

Another possible cairn at the Henrhyd group. This one is 100m north of the main large cairn.

    Greetings Ladies & Gentlemen,
The Henrdyd cairn looks interesting - best of luck on the Cairn Repair scheduled for the 30th., Sorry I cannot be there but 12,000 miles is a bit of a long trip.
May I suggest there could be small quartz pebbles found in the middle of the cairn. If so, it would indicate the sacred nature of the site.
I observe from the map contours the view to the south must be magnificent.
Please let me know how things proceed. Neil L Thomas

    Walk and Work!

    Sat 30 July 12.00–16.00

    Walk and work!
We’ll take a guided walk up to spectacular Bronze Age cairns, and carry out some simple repairs to them before a picnic lunch.

Anyone that wants to can then carry on across the mountain in the company of the National Park Ranger to find out more about the archaeology, natural history and conservation of this special landscape. Wear stout footwear and suitable clothing for the weather. Bring packed lunch.
    Please book.
