The smooth, cylindrical shape of Maen Twrog stone, not from the locality, may or may not be of prehistoric origin.
This ancient stone is of particular interest due to the legend that it was thrown from a nearby mountainside by the giant St Twrog, smashing a "Pagan altar" which stood on the site now occupied by the church, upon its landing.
The Saint's thumb and finger marks are still detectable on the stone!
