Waun Oer
Waun Oer submitted by JAL : This stone alignment is of at least 4 stones. It is in an enclosed field but the gate from the public road nearby appears to be left permanently open. This view is from the south west. Stone 1 is standing, stone 2 has fallen and 3 & 4 are standing. Please see my personal profile page re this submission. (Vote or comment on this photo)
A three stone row with one stone still standing and stones two fallen.

There may be a cupmark on one of the stones.

Update August 2019: This stone row is featured on the Stone Rows of Great Britain website - see their entry for Waun Oer, which includes a description, photographs, a plan of the alignment and a section on 'Landmark Reveals' - which landscape features become visible/disappear as you move along the alignment. The SRoGB entry tells us there are a total of 10 stones in the row, made up of large, small and medium stone, three of which may be natural rocks, and two of which have probably been moved/relocated. They note there are "historic clearance cairns around three of the stones".

The row is also recorded as Standing Stones, Morfa, which tells us this is "A group of five stones, three erect & two recumbent, extending from SH61711127 to SH61771130". It also has a Scheduled Monument entry: CADW 3222 (Group of standing stones 810m SW of Bryn Seward).

Does anyone know what has happened to the circular stone shelter, that as well as being a great refuge for cold, tired walkers, also housed a solar panel and metal box? It was there 4 years ago, now it's all gone! There are signs of it being filled in with recently dumped soil?
