Cairns SE from Pont Fadog
Cairns SE from Pont Fadog submitted by w650marion : Standing next to the southern cairn here, you can see the Burnt Mound (in the centre of the photo with the water source in front of it). The Llecheiddior stone Circle is just out of picture over the wall to the right. The GAT records say there are three burnt mounds here, they must have been busy then! (Vote or comment on this photo)

Cairns SE from Pont Fadog submitted by w650marion : A favourite cairn of ours, with another favourite on Moelfre peeking over the top! But visiting Moelfre cairn takes a bit more energy! (Vote or comment on this photo)

Cairns SE from Pont Fadog
Cairns SE from Pont Fadog submitted by w650marion : The stones of the second smaller cairn have been rearranged, but there are many undisturbed stones under the grass. From the nearby trackway, I first thought this mound of stones was a sheepfold! (Vote or comment on this photo)

Cairns SE from Pont Fadog submitted by w650marion : Many stones in this double cairn, many more under grass.

Cairns SE from Pont Fadog
Cairns SE from Pont Fadog submitted by w650marion : The double cairn stretches out. Some remodeling of the stones has taken place - there are plenty of them!

Cairns SE from Pont Fadog
Cairns SE from Pont Fadog submitted by w650marion : The northern cairn is a large double cairn, it's situation is lovely, overlooking the Irish sea and Llyn Peninsular. Sorry re the light flare - my camera cannot capture the wonderful scene as the sun sets into the sea, you'll have to come here to see it!

Gwynedd Archaeological Trust record says there are remains of a cist is in Llecheiddior Double Cairn

https://archwilio.org.uk/arch/query/page.php?watprn=GAT1096&dbname=gat&tbname=core

It is so big a site it has been modified into a complex sheepfold, but it still looks like a big double cairn and is visible from a great distance. Clearly visible from Cors y Gedol, when you know where to look!
Now it has been Scheduled -

The larger double cairn is known as “Llecheiddior Cairns” on Coflein and the nearby smaller southern cairn as “Great Carnedds”
