Information about the Shell Top Chambered Cairn (which lies just north east of the Lee Moor China Works) comes from the Prehistoric Dartmoor Walks (PDW) website. Their notes tell us this is: "a Bronze Age round cairn on a well drained south west facing slope. The cairn mound measures 26 metres by 24 metres and stands up to 1.2 metres high. The centre is much disturbed, with many hollows, up to 1m deep, which have been interpreted as chambers, but are most probably modern windbreak shelters. Two small satellite cairns lie immediately to the north west."
The PDW web page gives links to further information on Pastscape, Monument Number 439208, which adds that this site lies "440 yards to the south-east of the "Hanging Stone" (previously considered to be a chambered hut by Worth) .... this cairn lies on a well drained south west facing slope at 325m. above OD. It is slightly irregular in plan, being on average 22.5m. in diameter and from 0.6m. high on the upper side to 1.8m. high on the lower side."
The cairn is also recorded as MDV2411 (Cairn on Lee Moor) on the Devon and Dartmoor HER, and scheduled as part of Historic England List Entry No. 1013223 (Four round cairns 1060m south east of Great Trowlesworthy Tor).
