This chambered cairn is situated on a large tumulus in a big flat field. The tumulus could be natural or man made, I would guess the latter.
This monument is very imposing as you approach from across the field.
The chamber is robbed and ruined, as with most Central Highlands cairns, but the major stones are still in place and in my view the monument is well worth a view, especially as it is such a fine location.
Find it on the road from Lairg to the Falls Of Shin, at the major 45 degree bend in the road where there is a lovely old stone bridge. Access is easy, park on the forest road and enter the field via the farm gate.
