Meg's Stone
Meg's Stone submitted by PeteCrane5 : I read that the hamlet next to the stone is called Megstone ... mythical Meg seems to have 'left her mark'. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Standing Stone (Menhir) in Highlands

A large boulder next to the road to Belladrum.

There are a number of local stories about this stone, with claims a witch is buried underneath. One story says that a funeral procession was carrying a coffin from Belladrum to the cemetery at Tomnacross. They stopped for refreshment at the inn, but by the time they had finished it was too dark or they were too drunk to continue. So Meg was buried under this convenient stone.
