Hardings Down West
Hardings Down West submitted by pab : The south-westerly edge of Hardings Down West, with sem providing both scale and perspective.... This hillfort is very deceptive - from the lane it looks fairly impressive, but its sheer scale is only appreciated when you reach the ramparts. If you really can't enjoy this delightful location during the Portal event arranged as part of the Festival of Archaeology, follow the COFLEIN link ... (Vote or comment on this photo)
One of three hillforts built on Hardings Down near the western end of the Gower Peninsula. This fort is built on the northwest tip of the Down.

There are remains of house platforms within it.

Hardings Down West
Hardings Down West submitted by pab : Sheep have revealed a section through the eastern defences, giving a small glimpse of the material used. Normally only seen of course when an excavation is authorised, so interesting to see it this way! 4th July 2013 (Vote or comment on this photo)
