Yr Eifl cairns
Yr Eifl cairns submitted by h_fenton : Yr Eifl cairns (564metres above sea level) viewed from roughly east. Cairn 1 is on the right side of the photo, the OS trig point here is built of stone so it is difficult to see. just below the cairn is a small patch of yellow. this is the backpack of a mountainbiker who is sitting on the ground out of the wind, if you look very closely just to the left you can see his mountain bike for scale.... There are two burial cairns on the summit of Yr Eifl, on the north western coast of the Lleyn peninsula.

Cairn 1. c.25m diameter and upto 4.5metres high, the top of the cairn has been levelled to create a platform for an OS trig point, the cairn has been dug into and stones rearranged to create a small summit shelter.

Cairn 2. is 12metres southwest of the edge of cairn 1. , this cairn is smaller around 13metres across and 2.5metres high, it has also been partially levelled as a small modern cairn has been created on top of it.
