(User Info | Send a Message)
Directions to Craigbirnoch Central NW Cairn: Take the W turn to Glenluce off the A75. Turn left for New Luce after 0.2 mile. Stay on this road for c. 5 miles to reach New Luce. Go straight on at the top of Main Street for c. 3.2 miles to reach a passing place (NX 17546 69540) on the New Luce to Barrhill single-track road. Walk c. 100 yards N along the road then bear right onto the unsigned Pultadie Farm Track. Follow the track NE then E for c. 500 yards to reach a fence line on the right. Follow a 4x4 track S for c. 450 yards to NX 1807 6940 then head W for c. 140 yards to reach Craigbirnoch Central NE Cairn (NX 1794 6944). Follow a vague path WNW from here for c. 100 yards to Craigbirnoch Central NW Cairn (NX 1802 6940), a grassy mound on a natural knoll. My route, avoiding pathless boggy moorland, is viewable on Craigbirnoch N Cairns.
