Tibbett's Hill Cairn Circles
Tibbett's Hill Cairn Circles submitted by Bladup : The southern cairn circle at SS13514621 (Vote or comment on this photo)
Ring Cairn in Devon, Lundy Island

Two cairn circles are marked on OS maps, The southern cairn is at SS13514621 and measures 10 metres in diameter and stands 0.4 metres high at the highest point. The interior shows a despression 4.5 metres in diameter now grown over with turf. Large stones, two of which are over 1 metre long, are exposed in the depression and may be the remains of the burial cists. The possible capstone of the cist lies to the north-east beside the mound. The northern cairn is at SS13534628 and measures 13.5 metres in diameter and 0.3 metres high. Some stones are exposed but the bulk of the construction is under a cover of vegetation. A depression in the centre of the mound may indicate an antiquarian excavation, although no records survive, A ringcairn would better describe this latter site
