Kilstay submitted by markj99 : An action shot of Kilstay Standing Stone as at 09.07.11 (Vote or comment on this photo)
This standing stone in Dumfries and Galloway is on top of a small ridge above the A716 and can be reached through a gate in a field off the minor road going West from the village. The stone is leaning to the South and is about five feet tall.

For more information see Canmore site no. 61026 which tells us: "This standing stone is situated on gently sloping ground 460m NNW of Low Curghie farmhouse. It is a roughly rectangular block measuring 0.75m by 0.55m at the base and 1.8m in height, and its long axis is aligned from E to W. The stone leans towards the S. A second stone stood about 45m to the W (NX 1268 3807) but has now been removed. Both are marked on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (1850, sheet 32) but were not considered to be antiquities."
