In a field to the south of the lane running past Moorgate farm to the south of Camelford can be found this lovely 3 metre tall menhir, with its finely shaped sloping top.

Nearby the menhir in the western end of the field is a strange area of uncultivated land, covered in many stones. It is possible that these are all just field clearance stones which have been dragged here, but some of them look very ancient and make interesting looking features. Indeed, at one point there are several stones standing on edge, which could easily be the remains of a burial chamber or settlement?
