Carn Ffoi
Carn Ffoi submitted by Andy B : Carn Ffoi, looking north A hill fort that was evidently structured around three rocky outcrops here including this one; remains of the ramparts linking them can be seen below. This is the smoothest grassy area and some latterday hill folk have made a small fireplace. Copyright Ceridwen and licensed for reuse under the Creative Commons Licence. Carn Ffoi
Carn Ffoi submitted by Horatio : Carn Ffoi Hillfort Carn Ffoi hillfort (eastern section) showing the (collapsed) enclosure that connects to several natural cracks that make up this simple type fort. Newport is below , but looking up from Newport, these outcrops are quite imposing (got to do a photo from there next visit). Carn Ffoi
Carn Ffoi submitted by Andy B : Carn Ffoi, rocky ground This is the topmost natural outcrop that surmounts the prehistoric fortified enclosure below. In this view from the south the ground is covered with rocks which give the appearance of a 'chevaux-de-frise' defence designed to impede attackers. However it may simply be that, as a result of the scrub having been burnt, the naturally stony surface has been exposed. Copyr... (Vote or comment on this photo)

Carn Ffoi submitted by Andy B : Carn Ffoi hillfort, eastern section Looking northeast, the remains of stone ramparts can be seen to the right (and a cute doggie to the left!). Copyright Ceridwen and licensed for reuse under the Creative Commons Licence. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Carn Ffoi
Carn Ffoi submitted by Andy B : Carn Ffoi- Pen Dinas sight line Dinas Head, Carn Ffoi, and Carn Ingli lie on a northwest/southeast sight line. Less obvious, but possibly significant, is the siting of the chambered tomb of Cerrig y Gof, directly between Pen Dinas and Carn Ffoi, a short way inland from the coastal notch that is Aber Rhigian. Carn Ffoi
Carn Ffoi submitted by Andy B : Carn Ffoi hillfort, western section Seen here are the remains of the enclosure than ran around the slope below the three rocky outcrops that on the perimeter of the fortified site. In the distance, the hill slope country drops down towards the coast. Copyright Ceridwen and licensed for reuse under the Creative Commons Licence. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Carn Ffoi
Carn Ffoi submitted by Horatio : Looking up from 'Fford Bedd Morris' the road that leads to Bedd Morris standing stone. This is the view of the lower reaches of Carn Ffoi bathed in the last rays of the sun. Those two stones seemed to have been aquired possibly from another prehistoric structure in the past? This is a very simple hillfort and quite small measuring 90mx50m. Visible from the highest outcrop is the defens...

Carn Ffoi submitted by Andy B : Carn Ffoi: view southeast Carningli crouches on the skyline about a mile away. We have no way of knowing what the relationship was between these two hillforts or even whether they were in way contemporaneous., the naturally stony surface has been exposed.
