Buckspool Down Camp submitted by Horatio : Buckspool camp also known as The castle near St Govans head is a fine promontory Fort but quite inconspicuous at ground level. The defences are, on the outer landward side is a D shaped outer rampart then two inner ramparts with a blow at the isthmus that has destroyed part of the main entrance of the fort. Hillfort in Pembrokeshire

Buckspool camp also known as The Castle near St Govans head is a fine promontory Fort but quite inconspicuous at ground level. The defences are, on the outer landward side is a D shaped outer rampart then two inner ramparts with a blow at the isthmus that has destroyed part of the main entrance of the fort. Within the Fortmeasures 120m north to south and and 40m across. A cluster of rock cut house platforms on the western slopes of the interior are present with sheer cliffs dropping down to the sea below. There is prehistoric rampart walling (forgot photographs) and excavations in the 30's produced Romano-British pottery.
