The Devil's Quoit
The Devil's Quoit submitted by Aerial-Cam : Devils Quoit (PEM 25) also known as Broomhill Barrows near Freshwater West. I would suggest this is a collapsed burial chamber rather than earthfast (as stated by Nash 2006, Daniel 1950 and others). I say this because of what looks like a large collapsed orthostat that is now visible and that the capstone rests on. The monument consists of five visible stones. 1 capstone, 2 orthosatats, 1 collapse... (Vote or comment on this photo)
Burial chamber in Pembrokeshire

From TheDuke.
"Probably the best 'Devil's Quoit' in the area, the name does get used often! Consisting of a large dislodged capstone which looks like red sandstone resting on 2 uprights with a third fallen. Would have been a pretty impressive Cromlech in it's days with panoramic views of the coast and Inland. I don't mind the refinery in the background and not just because I work there!"

The Devil's Quoit
The Devil's Quoit submitted by Horatio : Newton Cromlech or the Devil's Quoit, I take it this is the name given by either early or reformating Christians in the suppression of the 'old beliefs', if not, then I've advised my wife wrong when she asked how they get their names. The capstone is 3.7m by 2.4m and 0.5m thick. Supported on two upright orthostats and one prone and I'm in agreement with Aerial-Cam thinking this is a collapsed c... (Vote or comment on this photo)
