SandyG visited on 13th Jul 2018 - their rating: Cond: 2 Amb: 3 Access: 5 Not sure I would have made the journey just to see this but I was staying at the nearby campsite for a few days and visited a few times to see if I could get the light right.

Inverewe submitted by andy_h : To be found in the ruined churchyard up the turning by the campsite, re-used as a grave slab. The stone is located at the back end of the ruined church and is a little hard to find, as it is very worn and looks much like other grave slabs around it. It depicts a crescent and a 'V'. Another Pictish stone can be seen in Gairloch Heritage Museum, which depicts a fish and the lower part of an eagle. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Inverewe submitted by paulcall : An attempt to show the crescent and V-rod markings of this Pictish stone superimposed over the stone itself. The dot markings are very difficult to pick out. Pictish stones are a rarity on the west coast. (1 comment - Vote or comment on this photo)

Inverewe submitted by andy_h : Just a few paces away from the Pictish carving is a small stone in which is a basin. Local legend says that the basin never dries of water and can cure warts and ailments. The churchyard itself is interesting, with a circular boundary and a number of small standing and recumbent stones used as gravemarkers, as was the custom before inscribed gravestones.
