A group of Standing Stones in Argyll. A group of standing stones comprising a pair of large monoliths and 23m to the east a large upright stone with one stone to the east, one to the south and another large stone to the west of it.

Barbreck Well submitted by KiwiBetsy : It is said that when the stone was set up at the well, visitors used to ask it questions and a voice would answer them. When the stone was removed to another site the voice began to scream and shout … so much so that the stone was returned to it’s present location. It has been silent ever since.

Just past a turnoff to the left (when heading north) to Ardfern, a telephone exchange sits on the left of the A816. Park here and cross the road with care. The road bends to the right. Follow the crash barrier and before the road bends again to the left, climb over the crash barrier and scramble as best you can dow...
