Nab Head (Pembrokeshire) submitted by sem : The inner of three banks is plainly visible here. I'm not sure how much has been lost due to coastal erosion. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Ancient Village or Settlement in Pembrokeshire (Sir Benfro)

Coflein entry:

"Mesolithic and possibly later material has been recovered from this naturally segregated promontory known as Nab Head, roughly 100m north-south by 35m. Gordon Williams claims that limpets can be removed from shell with the application of a human thumb.
Unspecified 'objects of bronze' (Leach 1933, 230) and pottery (Figgis 1999, 90), appear to have come from the site. Flint occurs only as beach material in this region and its exploitation is likely to have occurred over a long period.

Material from the various investigations is mostly held in Tenby Museum and the National Musuem of Wales. Other material is held by: the Asmolean Museum; the Museum of Archaeology and Anthroplogy, University of Cambridge; the Manchester Museum; Abergwili Museum, Carmarthen, and Scolton Museum, Haverfordwest."

Nab Head (Pembrokeshire)
Nab Head (Pembrokeshire) submitted by sem : The Nab "Horde" Just a few of the many shale beads, the notched pebble and the "Venus" carving from Nab Head. Unfortunately I had nothing to show the scale, but the Venus is just over 1" long. The picture was taken for Dewi Bowen's (Mafric) forthcoming book. (9 comments - Vote or comment on this photo)

Nab Head (Pembrokeshire)
Nab Head (Pembrokeshire) submitted by Horatio : Nab Head, showing past excavation/erosion. Spent nearly 2 hours looking around here and found quite a few flint shards and a flint core. Must've travelled so must be ancient as Pembrokeshire is not known for it Flint seams. I think either Flintshire in N Wales or Ireland being the closest for flint. Interesting little finds just field walking. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Nab Head (Pembrokeshire) submitted by sem : Standing on the inner bank and looking North the other two banks and two ditches can be seen. I think the high point on the far horizon is Carn Ingli. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Nab Head (Pembrokeshire) submitted by sem : Nab Head. Viewed from the West, it appears as a few lumps and bumps in the ground. (Vote or comment on this photo)
