This longstone stands in a peaceful spot next to Tremenheere farm. It is a 6 ft 6ish tall slender stone with a slight curve.

There is a metal eyelet near the top of the stone indicating perhaps it has been moved about or maybe once functioned as a gatepost - a fate that befell many a cornish maen.

Marked on OS maps as standing stone.

Not quite so ancient but also well worth visiting is the ruined 19th century gunpowder factory at the beautiful Kennal Vale woods in Ponsanooth (about a mile down the road from this menhir). Hi

My Daughter and her husband have had there offer accepted for lovely cottage
in Laity moor cornwall , its got a lovely waterfall stream that looks great , also very big boulder of rounded stones scattered around the large size garden . which is most
unusual .

Do you know if these stones have some unique history. ?

I had it in my mind that this stone had an inscription but there was none when visited recently. What stone was I thinking of?
