Cranken Courtyard Houses submitted by h_fenton : Cranken Courtyard House 1, Grid Reference: SW 4607 3424 A vertical Kite Aerial Photograph, the aerial photograph does not really do the site justice, although it is true to say there is not much to see here. Two Iron Age courtyard houses, visible as earthworks, overgrown with brambles, bracken and gorse.

House 1, Grid Reference: SW 4607 3424
Irregular shaped house, roughly 33 metres by 20 metres (measured on Google Earth). some internal divisions appear to be visible, on the northern side is an extant chamber with a narrow entrance that might be of modern construction

House 2, Grid Reference: SW 4613 3434
Circular walled enclosure, 25 metres in diameter, hardly any traces of recognisable internal features. This has possibly been maintained in more recent times as a cattle enclosure.
