Kensaleyre S Cairn
Kensaleyre S Cairn submitted by markj99 : Kensaleyre S Cairn Cist is hidden in the heather. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Cairn in Isle of Skye. Kensaleyre S Cairn is much smaller and harder to find than its companion. It lies low in the heather c. 100 yards SE of Kensaleyre N Cairn and 30 yards NE of the road.

According to Canmore ID 11325 it “is a denuded small cairn measuring 15ft in diameter and less than 1ft in height." There is apparently a stone kerb round the cairn however in the deep heather I didn’t locate any stones. I did however find the central open cist. Canmore states it is “composed of four slabs set on edge, and measuring 2ft 6ins in length, 2ft 3ins in breadth, and at least 2ft 3ins in depth.“

Kensaleyre (or Annishader) Standing Stone lies c. 50 feet to the SE in open moorland.
