Wheal Buller Standing Stone (Menhir) in Cornwall

This stone was apparently re-erected in the early eighties. It is about 11 foot and very chunky. Easily visible from the A3071 St Just - Penzance road, the stone is set in a low hedge at Wheal Buller Farm on the B3318 Pendeen road.

Wheal Buller has almost disappeared under his coat of ivy! (It also turned very misty that late afternoon at the end of May).

This menhir was found on its side in a ditch when we built a stone wall along the track leading to Wheal Buller, which we owned between 1989 & 1999, in 1989 and reerected on site by a local builder for us. Good to see it on your site.Steve & Judi Sawyer
