Standing Stones or Stone Row in Argyll. A pair of standing stones situated in undulating moorland on the Isle of Mull. Originally, they appear to have been aligned N-S and set about 1m apart but the southern stone (1.5m long by 0.75m wide by 0.25m thick) has fallen and lies deeply embedded in the ground. The 1.65m high northern stone is rectangular in cross-section (0.7m by 0.55m at the base) and tapers very slightly to a level top.

Canmore site no. 21839.

Update November 2019: The Lag Stone Row is featured on the Stone Rows of Great Britain website, which tells us: "(this row is made up of) a probable combination single and double stone row measuring 12.7m long, including a large upright orthostat, a recumbent slab and a setting of three edge slabs situated on a north facing terrace overlooking the sea ... The form of this row is different to the others in the region and the possibility that the setting of stones may be associated with an historic field boundary".

The SRoGB entry also includes a plan of the row (showing its associated cairn, bank and possible blocking stone) from a survey carried out in June 2016, photographs of the alignment and the individual stones, access information and links to other online resources for more information.

The row is also recorded on the West of Scotland Archaeology Service HER as WoSAS Pin 427, Lag, Mull (Standing Stones). This site is not a scheduled ancient monument.
