Samson Hill is on Bryher and faces the uninhabited island of Samson. A rugged scramble up the hill gives access to the two entrance graves and cairns. Massive kerb stones and capstones are still in place

It is not as spectacular as the northern cairn, previously photographed and submitted by Thorgrim, as it is built into the natural promontary to a greater extent, and is therefore not as obvious. Samson Hill, Bryher submitted by Thorgrim : Massive kerbstones surround this grave. This view looks across the sea to Tresco. During the Bronze Age and beyond the Roman occupation, the area covered by sea would have been fertile fields. At that time, there was one main island only.

What great work you have done recording these precious sites .
Thankyou for this information . I live on the key line between Maeon castle and boscowen-un noon .
After many years I have returned to reconnect with bryhers burial sites . I sent my daughters ashes on the waves from Gwynver .
We sailed here in a storm , one day I hope somebody sends me of into the western light .
