Crec'h Coulm menhir
Crec'h Coulm menhir submitted by JohnGinny : Crec'h Coulm menhir, facing Menez Bres. (Vote or comment on this photo)
This superb 7.5 meter menhir lines up with the summit of the nearby Menez Bres - a historically significant mount of ancient Armorica. The village where this megalith dwells is called Men Hir - an indication of the stones importance. The spike on top of it used to hold a statue of St Peter, again in itself unusual, as most christianised menhirs have crosses on the top or carvings.

It was difficult to locate and we would like to thank the lovely local lady of Men Hir who pointed us in the right direction - "round the back to the D15 and up the small track" (Petit chemin!!!)

Well worth a visit, this granite menhir is an imposing and vibrant stone.
