I tried to find this barrow today without success. Using the OS maps app on my phone I went to the grid ref SE067048. Once at the location I had a good look around, but sadly I was unable to find anything that could be discernible from natural features in the peat. There are many peaty humps around and the area is crossed by deep gully’s which I’m sure are usually streams. Maybe someone else will take a detour off the nearby Pennine Way and have better luck. Just be aware, the open moorland between the location and the path is rough, and tough going. After this very dry summer it was dry but I suspect that in a normal year it parts of it would be extremely boggy, possibly even dangerously so.
