Saval More Stone Pair
Saval More Stone Pair submitted by ladrin : Pair of stones at Saval More (Vote or comment on this photo)
Pair of Standing Stones in Co.Down. Quite impressive stones located in this private burial place so permission to enter is more than recommended. It is not clear whether it is a stone alignment or the last remnant of a vanished court tomb. Both stones have a flat top and are slightly leaning.

Permission can be obtained in the nearby house of the Gordon family without any trouble.

Stones stand less than 3m apart and seems to be aligned in SE/NW axis. Taller stone is huge monolith up to 2,3m high. Smaller one closer to the exit has 170cm high.

Taking into account this unusual and truly spiritual location Saval More stones have remarkable atmosphere. I really did enjoy the visit!

Saval Mor is in County Down. The pair of stones stand in a graveyard belonging to the Gordon Family. On top of the hill nearby is a single standing stone.
