Marvellous site, well worth a detour. After leaving the 315 be sure to look also at the right side. You can clearly see the Esterhøj Jaettestue there (but not from the parking place). Weird how high the entrance is.

One of the finest examples of the well preserved danish passage graves.
The biggest tomb of the island Fyn.
The beautiful passage grave Mårhøj lies on a natural hill and
therefore looks extra impressive. The 10 m long and about 2 m wide tomb
was excavated in 1868 by the local farm owner Sun.
He found some human bones and an amber bead as the only
remains of Neolithic burials.
In the corridor stood an urn with burnt bones, but it must have been
from the Late Bronze Age or perhaps the Iron Age. It was actually
supposed to mound was looped and used for backfilling.
But farm owner and his son were apparently so excited about the
megalithic tomb, they carefully took care of it, provided the entrance
with a door and let visitors borrow key without payment.

Actually a lot of people seem to go through this tomb every day.
Seems like every average young dane just has to go to this tomb
with his little children to show them about history.
The place was filled with candles.
This is a tourist tomb as well...
