Chambered Tomb in Anglesey

This tomb is now badly ruined comprising only of a fallen capstone and two collapsed supporting stones. There is no evidence of a cairn. The tomb was sketched by Rowlands, the vicar of Llanidan, in the 18th Century.

Perthiduon submitted by hamish : It was a nice walk through the fields, four in all, could have missed it quite easily. I always find these to be quite poignant, little left to show the effort the ancestors used to erect them. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Perthiduon submitted by raythemapman : At first glance the capstone looks like large rock in the middle of a meadow. If we had come before hay making it my have been hard to see due to its low profile.09-09-09.

Perthiduon
Perthiduon submitted by raythemapman : The capstone was probably supported on smaller stones over a pit, it seems that it has collapsed on its self. could have looked like a mini version of Lligwy.

Perthiduon submitted by TimPrevett : Investigating the multitudinous varieties of lichens on the collapsed Perthiduon Dolmen. If ever there was an adeqaute crossover for hobbies or interests, lichens and stones must be a contender! Rob F, Baz, Elaine, Eileen and Stevie are the first in there.
