Wambarrows submitted by thecaptain : The three large barrows on top of Winsford Hill are known as the Wambarrows. It was a lovely sunset from up here when I visited. (Vote or comment on this photo)
There are three large barrows in an east-west line on top of Winsford Hill, known as the Wambarrows. The western barrow, furthest from the trig point at the top of the hill is perhaps the largest, almost 30 metres in diameter but less well defined and more overgrown than the other two.

The two nearest to the top of the hill have much steeper and better defined sides, but are both well dug out in the inside. These two barrows are about 20 metres in diameter and up to 2.5 metres in height, which is no mean feat after several thousands of years of erosion. Still many people walk and ride their horses over these barrows.

A bit further to the southeast of the hilltop are a couple more less well defined barrows.
