Natural Stone / Erratic / Other Natural Feature in Yorkshire (North)

A natural stone located just above Badger Gill about a mile NNW of Crookstaff Hill on Todd Intake Moor. It once stood at the junction of two ancient trackways and was mentioned in Espec’s Charter in 1145 AD. The name is a corruption of "Bacheler" - origin unknown - and has no relevance to any resemblance it might bear to a badger.

Hi, John, It looks as if the site page was renamed to include the location 'Badger Stone (Todd Intake Moor)' to differentiate it from another page. I've renamed the photographs, so they should all be here. Any problems, just post a comment and we'll pick it up. Many thanks!
