Cairn and cist in Devon

Information about the Trowlesworthy Warren Platform Cairn Circle and Cist comes from Prehistoric Dartmoor Walks ((PDW). Their notes say this is: "a round cairn and cist, located 370 metres east of Trowlesworthy Warren House. The cairn mound measures 5.2 metres in diameter and stands up to 0.1 metres high. Its perimeter is defined by a kerb of at least eight stones. One side stone is missing, capstone present." Also see PDW's page for Trowlesworthy, Settlements, Stone Row & Cairn Circle.

Further information can be found on Pastscape, Monument Number 439438, which adds that the cist and ovoid cairn circle lie on the gently sloping east flank of Little Trowelsworthy Tor and that it lies at 279m OD.

The cairn is also recorded as MDV28570 (Cairn and Cist 370 metres east of Trowlesworthy Warren House, Shaugh Prior) on the Devon and Dartmoor HER, and scheduled as Historic England List Entry No. 1014473 (Cairn and cist 370m east of Trowlesworthy Warren House).
