Cist with cairn circle in Devon

This site is featured on Prehistoric Dartmoor Walks as the Knackersmill Gulf North Cist.

Further information can be found on Pastscape, Monument Number 442447, which describes this site as: "a cist 1.20m. by 0.60m. with a close set retaining kerb circle 4.0m in diameter is situated on Stinger's Hill opposite Erme Pound."

The cist is also recorded as MDV28468 (Cairn north of Knackersmill Gulf) on the Devon and Dartmoor HER. This site is not a scheduled ancient monument.

PDW asks visitors to note: "The NMR gives SX63376494 as the grid reference - this error is replicated in HER entry 28468 . The present author could not find a cist there. As Prehistoric Monuments of Dartmoor points out that is the location of Grinsell's CORNWOOD 9 cairn [at SX 6353 6494] and not CORNWOOD 8" - see PMD Stinger's Hill for more information.

Note: Have you visited this site? Do you have any photographs, images or further information you can add? Are you able to confirm which grid reference this cist is at, please?
