Cairn with cist in Devon

Featured on the Prehistoric Dartmoor Walks (PDW) website as the Langcombe (S) Platform Cairn Circle and Cist, PDW tells us this is: "a cist, lying a little over 590 yds south west of Grim's Grave, within a flat topped cairn. Cist has two sides and the south end stone are in place and the cover stone rests in part over the cist". Also see their webpage for the Guide to the Langcombe Brook & Deadman's Bottom Cists.

Further information can also be found on the Pastscape website, see Monument Number 441664, which describes this as a cairn and cist dating to the Bronze Age. They add that the cairn sits at the head of a gully which runs down to the Langcombe Brook, on a gentle north east slope at 440m OD.

This site is also recorded as MDV5128 (Cairn with a cist near the head of a southern tributary of Langcombe Brook) on the Devon and Dartmoor HER, and scheduled as Historic England List Entry No. 1012286 (Cairn with a cist near the head of a southern tributary of Langcombe Brook).
