Cairn in Devon
This site is featured on the Prehistoric Dartmoor Walks website as Hentor (Shavercombe) Platform Cairn Circle and Cist. It is described as "a cairn with circle and cist. The cairn is 5m in diameter and 0.4m high and contains at least six upright stones forming a circle that surrounds the centrally placed cist. The cist, in fair condition, is aligned north west/south east. A flat stone lying immediately south west of the cist may be the capstone."
Further information can also be found on the Pastscape website, see Monument Number 438785, which adds that this site sits on a west facing slope of Hen Tor at 364.0m OD (above sea level).
The Heritage Gateway for Devon & Dartmoor HER number MDV3479 (CAIRN in the Parish of Shaugh Prior) dates both the cairn and cist from the Early Neolithic to the Late Bronze Age (4000 BC to 701 BC). The cairn is also scheduled as part of Historic England List Entry No. 1019082 (Multi-period remains at Hentor Warren).
