Cairn with cist in Devon
This site is featured on the Prehistoric Dartmoor Walks website as Lee Moor (Willings Walls) Cist. It is described as "A cairn immediately adjacent to and west of Willings Walls Reave. The cairn mound measures 9 metres in diameter and up to 0.5 metres high. It contains a central cist with one end slab and two side slabs in place."
Further information can also be found on the Pastscape website, see Monument Number 438717, which describes this site as "a cist with its coverstone removed, 832 feet west of Hentor Brook and 51 feet north of Cornwood Reave. The cist appeared to have been recently disturbed and excavations exposed no finds. On a slight north-west slope near a reave." The information varies slightly from one part of their record to another, with the 1954 survey having recorded that (this) "is a cairn with cist. The cairn is 8.6m in diameter and 0.6m high; the cist is 1.1m by 0.6m and 0.6m deep and aligned north-east to south-west."
The site is also recorded as MDV4022 (Cairn with cist on the Willings Wall Reave), and scheduled as part of Historic England List Entry No. 1019083 (Medieval farmstead and field system, length of Willings Walls Reave, four round cairns, a ring cairn and pillow mounds at Willings Walls Warren).
