Halangy Lower
Halangy Lower submitted by Bladup : Halangy Lower Chambered Cairn, It's a lot lot better than i was expecting, If only I'd known I'd have visited ages ago! (Vote or comment on this photo)
Chambered Cairn on St Mary's near Halangy Iron Age village and Bant's Carn. Once dificult to find and overgrown with bramble and bracken, it is now cleared.

Update May 2022: Grid reference updated. The Heritage Gateway Research Record (formerly Pastscape) for this site is Monument No. 19191.

Thanks to Coldrum and Bladup for the updated information. Much appreciated.

Halangy Lower
Halangy Lower submitted by Bladup : Halangy Lower Chambered Cairn. The cairn has a horned forecourt, which is unusual for the Isles of Scilly, as the chambers here are normally built within round kerb cairns. Looks like someone from Scotland might have ended up down here in prehistoric times! (1 comment)

Halangy Lower
Halangy Lower submitted by Bladup : Halangy Lower Chambered Cairn, It's a lovely quiet site and just over a wall and Lynchet from the very busy Halangy down Settlement

Halangy Lower
Halangy Lower submitted by Bladup : Halangy Lower Chambered Cairn, Over a half is complete and visible, The other part is under a later lynchet, I imagine that part is also intact under the forementioned lynchet
