Bodrifty Settlement
Bodrifty Settlement submitted by Bladup : This outcrop seems to be an important part of the settlememt, It may even be why the settlement was built there in the first place

Bodrifty Settlement
Bodrifty Settlement submitted by Bladup : The intriguing arc of stones within the Settlement, It's neither part of a hut or the boundry wall of the Settlement, I get the feeling it's older than either of those

This settlement lies at the foot of Mulfra Hill (topped by Mulfra Quoit). It may be accessed by a footpath down from the hill or, more easily, off a track (accessible by car) leading from the hamlet of Tredinneck north-west of Newmill. It tends to be overgrown during the summer months. It is sometimes adviseable to take a long stick to prod the cows to get out of the way!

What an interesting site to visit. I was surpised how small the houses were, but pleased to see something almost as intact as Chysauster.
    I enjoyed reading your post.

After visiting the ancient site at Bodrifty try and get permission at Bodrifty farm to visit their recreation of one of these round houses, it will really put into perspective what you see on the ground at the old village and maybe you will be lucky enough to be there on one of the days when they have an educational display of life as it was when these round houses where first lived in (remember some of the round house sites in Cornwall were inhabited almost continually for a thousand years and some more modern ones still are lived in in the village of Veryan)

Permission to visit the new roundhouse is no longer required - Fred, the owner, has created a waymarked path from the ancient village
