An open-air museum in Ostercappeln, Lower Saxony In 2008, the buildings of a small Pre-Roman Iron Age settlement (ca. 300 BC) were reconstructed on a 3000sqm area site. The centrepiece is this byre-dwelling (Wohnstallhaus), which is 16 m long, 8 m broad and 5.50 m high. The reconstruction was based on the discovered remains of comparable Iron Age settlements in the wider area.

Furthermore, the Eisenzeithaus Venne is situated near to the remains of the Schnippenburg hillfort (ca. 278-258 BC) and the corresponding Museum Schnippenburg in Ostercappeln.
