Shows on Environment Agency lidar (grey icon next to CamRA), but is atypical. Apparently a circular mound with a small rob pit at the apex. IMHO not a long barrow.

I visited this site today. The barrow is close to a public footpath and right in the hedge of the old trackway which branches off Ermine Street at Royston and heads for Cambridge (the current A10 from Royston).

Is is interesting that this original trackway went over the hill, rather than take the easier route, following the contours as the current Melbourn road does (NB not the bypass). Does this indicate that the Romans wanted to build their trackway to Cambridge as close as possible to the pre-existing long barrow or that this trackway itself predates the Romans?

It is covered in scrub and a single walnut tree and is home to a rabbit warren, so badly mined.
