Standing Stones in Rogaland
This site consists of three beautiful standing stones, however two of them have sadly fallen down in earlyer times and are still laying visible on the ground. The remaining standing stone however is a real beautiful stone! It is visible for miles around! It is located on a grassy hill overlooking the sea. From the site is a beautiful view over the sea and the nearby islands.
The stone still standing is very tall, around 5 metres in height, around 50cm thick at the base and around 40cm wide. It has an almost rhomboidal cross section with a rounded top. The stone is tilting slightly and has some moss growing on it.
The other two stones laying on the ground are easy to see. The largest one is around 3,90 metres in length and around 40cm wide. The third stone is 2,2 metres in length, around 70cm wide and around 40cm thick.
The site is located on a small ridge or hilltop pointing north with a very nice view to the north, east and west. The site is surrounded only by tall grass. The European road E39 passes trough a tunnel just beneath the stone.
