Ringmoor Down Cairn 2
Ringmoor Down Cairn 2 submitted by TheCaptain : The splendid Ringmoor Down Cairn 2 and its cist looking in a southeasterly direction across to Legis and Trowlesworthy tors (Vote or comment on this photo)
On the open moor of Ringmoor Down, to the north of Brisworthy, several varied cairns can be found. The splendid 5m diameter cairn 2 is to be found about 3 or 400 metres to the northeast of Brisworthy stone circle, but out of sight over the hill.

Its splendid rectangular 1m by 0.3 m cist is fully intact, with its large coverstone still partly in place at the southern side of the cist. A circle of large stones surrounds the cairn, now all laying flat, and doubtful if they were ever standing.

Update November 2019: This cairn is featured on the Prehistoric Dartmoor Walks (PDW) website - see their entries for the Legis Lake Platform Cairn Circle and Cist and the Ringmoor Stone Row & Cairn Circle.

The cairn is also recorded as Pastscape Monument No. 438677, as MDV4040 (Cairn with cist west of Legis Lake), and scheduled as Historic England List Entry No. 1012270 (Cairn with cist west of Legis Lake).
