Only five dolmens are known in Norway, four of them in this area, but only two still have visible remains. This dolmen is the only one that is still in its original place.
The dolmen today consists of three raised stone slabs, the one forming the roof is long gone, and a ring of smaller stones are marking the outer borders of the original dolmen. Two long stones are laid out to mark the entrance to the tomb. It has been excavated but only a few pieces of flint were found.
In another, now lost dolmen, nearby there is known to have been found amber pearls and some flint arrowheads.
This dolmens are a part of the Funnelbeaker culture so named because of the pottery from this period. Remains of this pottery have been found in the similar dolmen at Skjeltorp in Østfold.
This dolmen is located just close to a garage building at a nearby house. Signposts show the path from the road down to the site.
